THURSDAY. OCTOBER 31. 1996 <br /> <br />accepted and appropriated the funds as requested. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous vote, Council approved a <br />request by Clean Community to endorse their efforts to apply for non- <br />profit status. Jennie Hinson, Executive Coordinator of Clean <br />Community, said the request was being made in an effort to obtain more <br />funds through private donations. <br /> <br />Council acknowledged a financial report for the month ending September <br />30, 1996. Director of Finance Richard Fitts was present to respond to <br />questions from the members of Council. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous vote, Council accepted and <br />appropriated Sl17,972 in loan proceeds from Patrick Henry National Bank <br />to complete the financing of nine new school buses. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous vote, Council set a public <br />hearing for November 12, 1996 on Ordinance No. 96-11 which would amend <br />the City Code by adding the Enterprise Zone. <br /> <br />In matters not on the agenda, Mr. Reynolds announced that Council would <br />hold a work session on November 7 at 4:00 P.M. at the Sara Lee Training <br />Center. Mr. Reynolds also announced a joint meeting with the Henry <br />County Board of Supervisors would be held November 15 at 12:00 Noon. <br /> <br />In accordance with Section 2.1-344 (A) of the CODE OF VIRGINIA (1950, <br />and as amended) and upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous <br />recorded vote, Council convened into Executive Session for the purpose <br />of discussing the following matters: (1) appointments to the <br /> <br /> <br />
