TUESDAY, OCTOBER 8, 1996 <br />In a matter not on the agenda, Council Member Crabtree noted a storm <br />drainage problem in front of Druid Hills School. <br /> <br />In accordance with Section 2.1-344 (A) of the CODE OF VIRGINIA (1950, <br />and as amended) and upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous <br />recorded vote, Council convened into Executive Session for the purpose <br />of discussing the following matters: (1) the possible acquisition of <br />property for public purpose, as authorized by Subsection 3; and (2) <br />appointments to the Board of Appeals, Board of Zoning Appeals, and an <br />At-Large Member to represent the City on the Southern Virginia <br />Partnership Board of Directors, as authorized by Subsection 1. At the <br />conclusion of this Executive Session, each member of Council certified <br />that (1) only public business matters exempt from open meeting <br />requirements were discussed in said Executive Session; and (2) only <br />those business matters identified in the motion convening the Executive <br />Session were heard, discussed or considered during said Session. <br /> <br />Council took no action on the first item discussed in Executive Session <br />and the appointment to the Southern Virginia Partnership Board. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous vote, Council appointed <br />Mark Price, 936 Bethel Lane, to the Board of Appeals to fill an <br />unexpired term ending May 11, 1998. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous vote, Council appointed <br />Allan McClain, 1715 Meadowview Lane, to the Board of Zoning Appeals to <br />a 3-year term ending September 28, 1999. <br /> <br />There being no further business to come before the Council, Mayor Adams <br /> <br /> <br />
