General Sign Regulations, Paragraph K. Temporary <br />Display, of the Zoning Ordinance. <br /> <br />Our Ordinam.:c currelltly alkl\\s the use of trailer-mounted signs (with or without wheels, banners, <br />streamers. petlllants and/or animated devices suspended from ropes, cords or wires by issuance of a pi:rmit <br />for a period of thirty days and only once every ninety dClYS, The proposed amendment \vould allow a <br />pem1it to be issued for sixty days and if approved for another thiny days by issuance of another permit. <br />The amendment would also allow the City to remove the sign after the expiration date at the cost of the" <br />individual applicant or responsible enterprise. <br /> <br />At the Public I learing il was noted the service time of seasonal businesses is lIsually longer than one <br />month. This proposal would enable thi:~c husinesses to advertise for a lungeI' period of time without the <br />cost of another permit. City staff is recommending the amendment in an attempt to be more business <br />1l.jendly, especially for smaller businesses, There was no citizen response regarding this proposed <br />amendment, and no one from the public was prescnt at the hearing, <br /> <br />Following discussion oj' the Ill~llter. the Planning Commission voted unanimously (5-0). 10 forward <br />the pmposed amendment, as attached, to City Council \\ith a favorable recommendation. <br /> <br />The Planlli ng Commission respect full y submits the above recommcndation for Counci I' s further <br />consideration. <br /> <br />Sincerely. <br /> <br />.lames i\.
