<br />March 13, 2007 <br /> <br />Matt Hankins, Communications Manager, gave an update on the second <br /> <br />season of the Martinsville Mustangs baseball team to Council, highlighting the <br /> <br />team's successful season record of 35-16 with two championship pennants <br /> <br />along with increased attendance and advertising. He also presented to <br /> <br />Council a printed report showing the overall financial summary and a business <br /> <br />plan outline for 2007. <br /> <br />City Manager Collins made brief comments concernIng the bulk trash <br /> <br />program as well as Leon Towarnicki, Public Works Director. After discussion <br /> <br />and questions by Council, it was decided that the program would start back up <br /> <br />within two weeks and that any funding options will be considered as part of the <br /> <br />FY08 budget process. <br /> <br />Council Member Lawson indicated that Council desired for City Manager <br /> <br /> <br />Collins to schedule a meeting with County Administrator Benny Summerlin to <br /> <br /> <br />identify the next steps in finding a suitable location for Social Services. Mr. <br /> <br />Collins stated that the City is committed to improving the current situation of <br /> <br />Social Services, but the best location needs to be chosen. Council suggested- <br /> <br />coming up with two options, not to include the former Athena building. He will <br /> <br />meet with Mr. Summerlin and report back to Council at their next meeting. <br /> <br />The Consent Agenda will be considered at the next meeting. <br />
