March 13, 2007 A regular work session of the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, was held on March 13, 2007, in Council Chamber, Municipal Building, beginning at 4:00 P. M., with Vice Mayor James W. Clark presiding. Council Members present included: James W. Clark, Vice Mayor and Council Members Mark T. Anderson, J. Ronald Ferrill and Kathy C. Lawson. Mayor Kimble Reynolds, Jr. was absent. Vice Mayor Clark opened the meeting. Council considered adoption, on second reading, of an Ordinance on a request by Sheila Williams to rezone property at 800 Starling Avenue from R-6 Residential to P-2 Professional and to amend the proposed land use map. Council Member Ferrill moved to adopt the following Ordinance on second reading and to amend the proposed land use map; the motion was duly seconded and carried by the following roll call vote, all members voting: Vote: 4-0. Yeas: (4) Clark, Anderson, Ferrill, Lawson. Nays: (0) None. Absent (1) Reynolds. AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ZONING MAP AND THE PROPOSED LAND USE MAP CITY OF MARTINSVILLE BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, in regular session assembled February 27,2007, that in order to assure compliance with Virginia Code Section 15.1-491 (g), it is stated that the public purpose for which this Ordinance is initiated is to fulfill the requirements of public necessity, convenience, general welfare and good zoning practice, that the: Zoning Map of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, be--and is hereby--amended to the extent that 800 Starling Avenue, Parcel 43(13)00/29, on the Zoning Map of the City of Martinsville is rezoned from R-6 Residential to P-2 Professional; Proposed Land Use Map of the City of Martinsville, be--and is hereby--amended to the extent that 800 Starling Avenue, Parcel 43(13)00/29, on the Proposed Land Use Map of the City of
