<br />SUMMARY OF PROPOSED IMPROVEMENTS <br /> <br />Housing <br />o Six (6) owner-occupied housing units will be rehabbed with $114,495 in CDBG <br />funds. <br />DOne (1) previously dilapidated housing unit has been rehabbed with $16,550 in <br />private funds and is now occupied. <br />- 0 One (I) housing unit was so heavily dilapidated that it posed health problems to its <br />occupant. This unit has been demolished by the City, and the resident has been <br />relocated. <br />o Six (6) renter-occupied housing units will be rehabbed with $152,544 in CDBG <br />funds. <br />o Six (6) owner-occupied units will be substantially reconstructed with $671,439 in <br />CDBG funds. <br />o Four (4) owner-occupied units will be substantially reconstructed with $269,600 in <br />Indoor Plumbing Rehab funds. <br />o Eleven (11) lots (2 with improvements) will be acquired, replatted and given to <br />Southside Outreach Group for the production of seven (7) infill affordable housing <br />units. <br />o Home Maintenance Education will be provided for the residents of all housing rehab, <br />substantial reconstruction and infill affordable housing production activities, <br /> <br />Infrastructure <br />o Two (2) renter-occupied units will be acquired and cleared so that Cherry Street <br />Extension may be widened to meet VDOT regulations. <br />o Approximately 1,400 linear feet of waterline improvements will be installed on <br />Cherry Street Exte'nsion and Jordan Street in addition to 3 new gate valves with <br />$44,250 in City funds. <br />DOne (1) new fire hydrant will be installed on Jordan Street with $2,000 in City funds. <br />o Approximately 200 linear feet of storm drainage improvements will be installed on <br />Cherry and Jordan Streets with $7,000 in City funds. <br />o Approximately 1,600 linear feet of sidewalk improvements will be installed on <br />Cherry Street with $24,000 in City funds. <br />o Approximately 5,050 linear feet of curb and gutter improvements will be installed on <br />Cherry Street, Cherry Street Extension and Jordan Street with $126,250 in City funds. <br />o Cherry Street, Cherry Street Extension and Jordan Street will be repaved with <br />$53,100 in City funds. <br />o Two turnarounds will be installed on Cherry and Jordan Streets with $10,000 in City <br />funds, <br />o Neighborhood residents will participate in a clean-up of the neighborhood to rid the <br />area of debris and trash with $2,500 of their private money. <br /> <br />Housing Production <br />o Seven (7) affordable single-family homes will be developed $251,430 In CDBG <br />funds and $500,500 in private funds. <br />
