<br />January 23, 2007 <br /> <br />received the sign as part of a program sponsored through the National League <br /> <br />of Cities, which the City had joined by Resolution adopted in April of 2006. <br /> <br />This sign and others like it will eventually be placed at gateways coming into <br /> <br />the City. <br /> <br />Council considered the need to meet in Closed Session. In accordance <br /> <br />with Section 2.1-344 (A) of the Code of Virginia (1950, and as amended) and <br /> <br />upon motion by Council Member Ferrill, duly seconded, and by unanimous <br /> <br />recorded vote, Council convened in Closed Session, for the purpose of <br /> <br />discussing the following matters: Appointments to Boards and Commissions <br /> <br />as authorized by Subsection 1 and the disposition of real property as <br /> <br />authorized by Subsection 3. <br /> <br />At the conclusion of this Closed Session, each returning member of <br /> <br />Council certified that (1) only public business matters exempt from open <br /> <br />meeting requirements were discussed in said Closed Session; and (2) only <br /> <br />those business matters identified in the motion convening the Closed Session <br /> <br />were heard, discussed, or considered during said Session. Upon returning to <br /> <br />Open Session, Council took the following action: <br /> <br />The disposition of real property as authorized by Subsection 3 - <br /> <br />instructed the Clerk to advertise for public hearing and sale at the February 13 <br /> <br />work session city-owned property as follows: <br /> <br />· 2,800 square feet in front of 1324 South Memorial Boulevard <br />to Randy Powell <br />
