January 23, 2007

community; Steve Jones, of 611 Parkview Avenue, asked about a skateboard

park and his support of programs for the kids; Anthony Gallant, of 914 Glade

Street, expressed his concern about the recent tax assessments and John

Carter, of 716 Beechnut Lane, expressed his concern about Council throwing

darts relative to the budget and that they should rescind everything they have

done and let the City Manager do his job.

Before a motion was made on the Consent Agenda, City Attorney Eric

Monday expressed to Council that he had checked with the Hunton and

Williams law firm about any additional reduction in their bill and said there

would be none. Council Member Ferrill indicated he would like a

representative from the firm to come to a Council meeting and Attorney

Monday said they had expressed their willingness to do so and he would

arrange it. Council Member Ferrill indicated that he would approve the

Consent Agenda items with the stipulation that the funds to pay the cable bill

would be transferred to the line item, but that payment would not be made

until after the representative attends a Council meeting.

Council Member Lawson moved that the following Consent Agenda be

approved with the stipulation concerning payment of the cable bill; the motion

was duly seconded and carried by the following vote, with all members voting:

Vote 4-0. Yeas (4) - Reynolds, Clark, Ferrill, Lawson. Nays (0) - None. Absent
(1) -Anderson.
