<br />18 <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />JANUARY 10, 1956 <br /> <br />After receiving a request from tw. B. D. Norman that his property at 1308 Memorial <br /> <br />Boulevard South be rezoned to "B-1 Busiress" and, also, a request from Mr. W. S. <br /> <br />Donovant that his property at DIO Memorial Boulevard South be likewise rezoned, <br /> <br />Council called for a public hearing to be held by the Council at its next regular <br /> <br />meeting to be held Janu2ry 24, 1956 on the proposal that not only these two properties <br /> <br />be rezoned to "B-1 Businessll but that all of the property along Memorial Boulevard <br /> <br />South, more specifically described in the follmving notice of said hearing, be rezoned <br /> <br />"B-1 Business": <br /> <br />The wes t side of Memorial Boulevard South from the north line of Sunset Drive <br />for a distance of 764 feet north--depth of two hunc~ed feet; and <br /> <br />The east side of Memorial Boulevard South from the City's south corporate <br />linits for a distance of 528 feet north--depth of two hundred feet. <br /> <br />The following ordinance amending the City's Plumbing Code and the City's ordinance <br /> <br />prescribing rules and reGulations for the operation of the electric utility system <br /> <br />were adopted, effective immediately: <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Mar t insvi lIe , Virginia, in <br />regular meeting assembled January 10, 1956 that Section 240 (Non-Resident <br />Plumbers) of Article XVI of the Plumbing Code of the City of Mar tins vi lIe <br />adopted June 27, 1950 be amended to read as follovm: <br /> <br />Any person applying for a license as a non-resident master plumber <br />of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, shall conform to the regulations <br />as set forth in Article I, Sections 109 and 110 of this Code. <br /> <br />An errergency existing, this ordinance shall be in effect from date of its <br />adoption. <br /> <br />BE IT ffiDAINED by the Council of the City of Martinsvil1e, Virginia, in <br />regular meeting assembled January 10, 1956 that the section or paragraph <br />enti tIed "Snecial Terms and Conditions" of the industrial service tariff <br />of an ar'di~nce adopted January 27, 1953 prescribing rules and regulations <br />for the operation of the City's electric utility system be arr~nded to read <br />as follo"l"Is: <br /> <br />This tariff is available to eus tomers having other sources of energy <br />supply but who desire to purchase service from the City. Where such <br />condi tions exist, the monthly billing demand shall not be less than <br />the eustomer's contract capacity. <br /> <br />An emergency existing, this ordinance shall be in effect from date of its <br />adoption. <br />
