Vlhittle, III, was appointed to member- <br /> <br />ship on the City Pla~ning Corunission for a term expiring July 1, 1958, thus bringing <br />the Commission's membership to its authorized n~TJlber. <br /> <br />After accepting with regrets the resignation of Dr. F. B. Teague as a member of the <br /> <br /> <br />City School Board, Council unanimously appointed Mr. Henry C. Reed to membership on <br /> <br /> <br />said Board for the unexpired term ending July 1, 1957. <br /> <br />Upon. recommendation of City Manager Mathewson, Council authorized the purchase of <br /> <br />N!.r. & I\I!.rs. William S. Altshull's property at 53 'West Church Street for the sum of <br /> <br />$20,000--terlTI3 $5,000 down and $5,000 reI' year for each of next three years at three <br />per cent interest wi th right of anticipation at any time. To provide funds for the <br />initial (d~rn) payment, Council authorized the transfer of $5,000 from the General <br /> <br />Fund Emergency Account. <br />
