,04 TUESDAY DECEMBER 13, 1955 The regular semi-monthly meeting of the Coun::il of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, with Mayor R. S. Hodnett presiding, was held in the Council Chamber, City Hall, on Tuesday, December 13, 1955, at 7:30 P.M., with all members present, as follows: Mayor and CounciJ.man R. S. Hodnett; Vice-Mayor and Councilman C. P. Craig; and CounciJ.men B. H. Hill, W. T. Turner, and J. R. Walker. Minutes of the regular Counc il meeting held November 22, 1955, and of the special Council meeting held December 10, 1955, were approved as read. In accordance with duly-advertised public notice, Council conducted a public hearing on the question of rezoning Lanier Farm property on Spruce street from !lA-l Residentialll to llB-l Business!l, as previously recommended by the Planning Corrnnission. No one present voiced any objections to this proposed rezoning and Council placed the following ordinance effecting said rezoning on first reading: BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Martinsville that the Zoning Code and Zoning Map of the City of Martinsville be amended to provide as follows: That all of the property presently owned by Lanier Farm, Inc., and lying to the rear of the present B-1 Busi;~ss district between the limits on Spruce Street Extended be rezoned from A-I Residential to B-1 Business. Also in accordance vdth duly-advertised public notice, Council conducted a public hearing on a proposal, as approved by the Planning Commission, to rezone from llB-l Businessll to !lA_Ill and f1A-2 Residentialfl the east and west sides, respectively, of the Old Danville Road bet-Neen a point 460 feet north of its intersection with parkview Avenue and a point 1530 feet south of said intersection.
