Council, however,
indicated that it might call tor a public hearing on this proposed rezoning-probably
for August ,30, 1955-and, if so, would establish the date and place at its forthcoming
August 9th meeting.

Representatives of citizens residing on Gratton Road appeared before Council and reported
that theY' have secured necessary tlmds for the construction of curb-and-gutter on said

Gratton Road from the Old Denville Road to within three-or-four hundred feet of the

other end of the street (or to property on the lower end of the street 'Which is owned by
Lanier Farm, Inc.), these representatives requesting that that portion for which funds

have been obtained be considered a block within the meaning of the term "block" as used

in the current regulations governing curb-and-gutter construction. Council, nevertheless,

ruled that such an interpretation would be in conflict with COlmcill s policy and/or
intention when establishing these regulations and, therefore, denied the request.
