3~

TUESDAY

JANUARY :?k1.252

I informed Mr. Wade that in order for the church to dispose of its
waste into the existing sewer main, a pump would h~ve to be installed
in the basement with a pressure line constructed from the pump to the
end of the existing sewer 1jne and a manhole built at this point. I
also informed hill'. that the City could not, under any circumstances
withstand any of the costs of this project. After I informed }~. Wade
of the above mentioned condition, he inquired as to whether or not
there was anything else that could be done that Vlould ma"k:e se\.J'er
service available to the chur ch such as the installation of new
sewer mains or the replacement of the sewer line on D street by the
City.

/-,

I had the Engineering Division to make a profile of the block of D
Street from Second to Third Street in order to determine how many
additional houses could be served by the replacement and extension
of this line as far as possible to.lard Third Street. From this pro-
file it was determined that only two additional houses could be served
by the construction of' 325 linear feet of sewer ljne. The church would
still have to install pumping facilities in order to dre.in bathroom
facilities that would be located in the basement.

I informed Hr. Wade of' our findings and also told him that there were
no funds available at this time for the replacement and extension of
this section of se.fer line.

~'~
~~
i

I suggested to Hr. l-lade that he consult a plumber in order to determine
the cost of the installation of the p~~ping facilities which would PL~p
into the existing seYler line and also to obtain an estimate as to the
cost of the installation of a septic tank, and svg:o:ested that the church
consider the installation of the cheaper of the two above mentioned projects.

George W.
