~24 TUESDAY DEeD'JEER 28, 1954 With the understanding that the operation of the City1s Hydro-Electric Plant will not be adversely or remuneratively affected, Council approved for Mayor Hodnett's signature a contract with DW{e Power Company whereby during certain low-water periods along the Smith and Dan Rivers and upon certain conditions and upon request of Duke Power Company the City will operate for stated intervals its 300 Kw. generator unless the river level at the City1s plant and dam falls below one and one-half feet of its normal level. The following resolution offered by Councilman Craig, calling for a survey of certain of the City's insurance coverages, expos~res, and costs, was adopted: Be It Resolved by the Council of the City of rlartinsville, Virginia, in regular meeting assembled, that: l. 'The Director of Finance thru the City Hanager be instructed and directed to obtain from the insurance unde~~iters carrying all the liability insurance risks of the City a statement showing the amount of premiums paid in by the city, and the amount of claims paid by the said underwriters on behalf of the city, for the past five full policy years, itemized by the year paid, and by the types of risks covered during the five-year period. This applies to all types of liability risks, including workmen IS compensation end vehicle liability, but not including boiler or fixed machine explosion or liek accident or any fire insurance. 2. The Director of Finance thru the City rmnager have prepared a complete list of all the liability insurance coverages carried by the city, showing objects and risks covered, extent or limits of liability, and the amount of premiums paid on each risk for the last full policy year. 3. A copy of each of these reports be delivered to each member of the Council when ready, for the information and consideration of the Council. Council was adjourned. c8~~,,~~ w. H.
