<br />~24 <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />DEeD'JEER 28, 1954 <br /> <br />With the understanding that the operation of the City1s Hydro-Electric <br /> <br />Plant will not be adversely or remuneratively affected, Council approved <br /> <br />for Mayor Hodnett's signature a contract with DW{e Power Company whereby <br /> <br />during certain low-water periods along the Smith and Dan Rivers and upon <br /> <br />certain conditions and upon request of Duke Power Company the City will <br /> <br />operate for stated intervals its 300 Kw. generator unless the river level <br /> <br />at the City1s plant and dam falls below one and one-half feet of its <br /> <br />normal level. <br /> <br />The following resolution offered by Councilman Craig, calling for a survey <br /> <br />of certain of the City's insurance coverages, expos~res, and costs, was <br /> <br />adopted: <br /> <br />Be It Resolved by the Council of the City of rlartinsville, <br />Virginia, in regular meeting assembled, that: <br /> <br />l. 'The Director of Finance thru the City Hanager be instructed <br />and directed to obtain from the insurance unde~~iters <br />carrying all the liability insurance risks of the City a <br />statement showing the amount of premiums paid in by the <br />city, and the amount of claims paid by the said underwriters <br />on behalf of the city, for the past five full policy years, <br />itemized by the year paid, and by the types of risks covered <br />during the five-year period. This applies to all types <br />of liability risks, including workmen IS compensation end <br />vehicle liability, but not including boiler or fixed machine <br />explosion or liek accident or any fire insurance. <br /> <br />2. The Director of Finance thru the City rmnager have prepared <br />a complete list of all the liability insurance coverages <br />carried by the city, showing objects and risks covered, <br />extent or limits of liability, and the amount of premiums <br />paid on each risk for the last full policy year. <br /> <br />3. A copy of each of these reports be delivered to each member <br />of the Council when ready, for the information and <br />consideration of the Council. <br /> <br />Council was adjourned. <br /> <br />c8~~,,~~ <br />w.
