<br />The State Fish and Gam::: Cormniss:.io:l has cooperated' Ev,lly vii th th is ComJ11j_ttee, and
<br />after a study had been made of the water, the Cornmis[]ion furnished approximately
<br />4000 la.rge-mouth Bass and 1000 Brea.--n for stockim,: purposes. These fish have been
<br />placed in the lake and it apoears t.i-J.ctt there is an adequate food supply to insure
<br />their [,rowth. It is hoped that in the neC'.J:' future an addi tioml stockinr:; of
<br />large-mouth Bass can be r.',ade.

<br />Game Commission that, insofar as Vias in tlreir poner, they would recoE1nend that no
<br />fee be charged for fishing and that the Common'iToalthts rules and reGulations

<br />The question of ~)roper licenses for fishinc; iYl th:Ls area has beeYl investiGated,
<br />and as nearly as the Committee can determine, it will 'oe required that residents
<br />of the c; ity of l,fartil1sville obtain State Fishing licenses in order to fish in
<br />the reservoir.
<br />
<br />The Committee feels tllat this is an injustice to City residents who are, throuc;h
<br />water purchases, bearing the expenses of the :i.mpoundment, but they undorstand
<br />that the situation can be remedied onl;r b. legislatm~e.
<br />
<br />B. BOATING
<br />
<br />1. Boating shall be permitted on the reservoir 1,'iilCmeVer the area is opened for
<br />recreational purposes; except as hereL'1 limited.
<br />
<br />2. Any person desiring to place a boat upon the reservoir, either for regula,r at'
<br />temporary use, shall secu.re a permit therefor from the caretaker or designated
<br />city employee. Only boats of a safe and substa,ntia.l type and structure shall be
<br />allowed on the reservoir and -t~is shall exclude canoe type boats, hydroplanes or
<br />other racing cr2.ft, kayaks, metal boats without adequate air cbamoers, rafts, and
<br />any other boat which is the opin..:Lon oft.he inspoc::,or, is unsafe. This shall not
<br />prohibit the use of sail boats if they are individually determined to be safe.
<br />It s hall be Uw ciut:,r of the c3.retaker or other City enployee to cause such boats
<br />to be inspected npon each application for license, ani to see that all boats comply
<br />with the standards prescribed. 1Nhenever, upon such inspection, it shall be found
<br />that the boat :U'Bpected does not comply ,:vith SUC:l standards, it shall thereupon
<br />be the duty of the i'1Spector to notify tIE armer, l;roprietor, or agent in charGe
<br />of such boat, to forth\'rith comply wi th such standards and no permit sha~l be
<br />issued until such tiJ:J.e as com:oliance is r:Jade. 'JVith the licema herein provided
<br />for, there shall be issured a metal tag or disc for 8a.ch boat shOlving the year of
<br />such inspection and such other information a.s the City may deer necessary, which
<br />tag or disc must be affixed to some prominent place on the bow of the boat.
<br />There shall also be painted conspicuously on the after quarter a number
<br />corresponding to the number of pounds of weight aui:hor:Lzecl to be carried therein,
<br />a.nd no ovmer, agent or leasee, shall allow more than 'c,I1at nU'Tlber of pounds of
<br />weight to occupy said boat at any t:line. In order to authorize the maninlUm number
<br />of pounds of weie:;ht for a bo at, the inspector shall accurately determine its
