In connection 'with these plans the representatives <br /> <br />of the various organizations mentioned above requested that Council permit free <br /> <br />parking at metered spaces to those tobacco farmers who sell their tobacco on the <br /> <br />Martinsville market on those days on which the tobacco is sold. Council expressed <br /> <br />considerable interest in this project and offered its coopere.tion wherever possible; <br /> <br />hO'lvever, Council deferred action on the specific request for free parking pending a <br /> <br />complete study of the proposition and penci.ing a written report on the subject from <br /> <br />City Manager Matllewson.
