:38 TUESJlI\.Y JUNE 8 1954 '- The Planning Commission at a regular meeting in October went to the site of the relocation and met with one of the property o"t"mers, Mr. G. T. Lester and :Mr. S. :M. Percival of the Carolina and Northwestern Railway Company. At that meeting, the Planning Commission made certain recommendations as to the realignment of this street as shown on map, and as a result these recommended changes in the plans were made by the property owners. The property mmers involved submitted to the Planning Corrrrnission at its last regular meeting on May 26, 1954 a new map showing the realignment of Doyle Street as per Planning Commission recommendations. After reviewing this map the Commission unanimously voted to recommend to City Council that this map ar plan for the relocation of Doyle Street be approved. The Planning Commission respectfully submits the above recommendation for your further consideration. Council, next, referred to the Plannir~ Commission the follovnng request submitted by Mr. Horace G. Dyer concerning the opening of a forty-foot street off of Pine Hall Road: According to a plat being submitted to you, I would like to request approval of the opening of a 40 ft. street off of Pine Hall Street. Since the other property owner at the mouth of a street now measuring 20 ft. cannot give any property toward widening this right-away and since more than 20 ft. taken off the lots on the other side will make them unusable, I believe this request might be received favorab~ by you. Council also referred to the Planning Commission an offer from Sale Knitting CompaJ\Y, Inc. concerning the proposed extension of Wingfield Street through to Roy Street, copy of which is as follcwls: As you are probably aware, we have been considering glVlng the city the land for the proposed extension of Wingfield through to Roy Street on its present line. We have obtained the necessary land from Irs. H. B. Land to effect this transaction. It is our understanding that if we give this to the city now, you plan to complete the surfacing and drainage of same and v/ill maintain same satisfactory for yours as well as our use. The writer has been authorized to give this land to the city per our last Board of Directors meeting and we ask that you have Mr. McGhee work this transaction up completely for our signature.
