Carroll Eanes <br /> <br />ril] <br />LIJ <br /> <br />In connection with suggestions received from the Mountain View Garden Club as to <br /> <br />certain local refuse collection problems, City Manager Mathewson reported that <br /> <br />the City, along with the local Health Department, is currently engaged in a <br /> <br />complete study of all the problems connected with local refuse collection and <br /> <br />that, when the study or survey is completed, the Council would receive reconnnenda- <br /> <br />tions tending not only to improve the collection system and sanitation but also to <br /> <br />-- <br /> <br />coordinate the several individual suggestions dealing with specific problems. <br /> <br />A report on the accomplishments made in the 1954 Virginia General Assembly with <br /> <br />respect to the League of Virginia Municipalities' 195h Legislative Aims Program <br /> <br />was received and acknovrledged, with Council instructing me Clerk to .write letters <br /> <br />of appreciation to State Senators Vfyatt and Burton and to State Delegates .carter <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />and Stone, representing this area in the Assembly, for thei1t assistance and <br /> <br />cooperation during the recent legislative session. <br />
