At tb..is rreeting, the Commission considered a petition referred to
it be City Council regarding certain properties adjacent to the property now
owned by the Sale Knitting Company on Wingfield Street.

After due consideration of this matter, the Commission unanimously voted to
make the following recommendation to City Council:

That a portion of property owned by the Sale Knitting Company and also a portion
of property ov'ffied by Mr. Dan Atkins, which it is our understanding will be
donated by these respective property owners, be used to construct a circular
turn-around at the end of Wingfield Street; that this circle have a diarreter of
70 feet; and further that the unused portion of the Wingfield Street right-of-
way east of this turn-around be deeded to the Sale Knitting Company.

In making th:Ls recommendation, the Planning Commission considered the follow-
ing fac ts :

1. Wingfield Street presently has a curb to curb width of 20 feet and there
is no point at which a vehicle of any description might turn around without
having to back up approximately 200 feet, thus causing confusion as well as
traffic hazard to vehicles of all types.
