<br />.26 <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />JUNE 30, 1953 <br /> <br />The following two amendments to' the Constitution and By-Laws of the Martinsville <br /> <br />Volunteer Fire Campan,y, having been approved and recommended by the Company's <br /> <br />membership and, also, by the Company's Constitution & By-Laws Committee and its <br /> <br />Advisory Connnittee, were unanimous~ approved by the Council: <br /> <br />ARTICLE II - Section 3 <br /> <br />The Company shall consist of a membership not to exceed thirty-five (5) <br />active members, provided, however, that af the total authorized strength <br />not more than 20% of such members shall hold emplo;yment in the same busi- <br />ness organization. This limitation shall not apply to an active member <br />who changes his place of employment. <br /> <br />ARTICLE II - Section 5 (Elections must be unanimous) <br /> <br />Any applicant receiving mare than two (2) negative votes shall not be <br />elected to active membership. <br /> <br />After acknowledging with appreciation a letter from E. A. Sale, in which letter <br /> <br />Mr. Sale complimented Fire Marshal Easterly for his outstanding work and, <br /> <br />particularly, far his assistame rendered the cOIDrrnlnity of Axton in helping <br /> <br />organize a fire company for Axton, and there being no other business to be <br /> <br />considered, Council was adjourned. <br /> <br /> <br />, Clerk of ouncil <br />
