APPROVED AS TO FORM City Attorney Upon reviewing the proposed agreement, Council unanimously went on record as approving same, authorizing City Manager Mathewson to execute the agreement on behalf of the City, through the follOwing resolution: WHEREAS, under date of June 22, 1953 the Department of Highways of the Commonwealth of Virginia has presented to the City of Martinsville a proposed agreement entitled IIAGREEMENr BY MUNICIPALITY OR POLITICAL SUBDIVISION TO MAINTAIN HIGIfi'fAYS ThIPROVED UNDER PROVISIONS OF FEDERAL HIGIfHAY ACT AS AMENDED AND SUPPLEMENrEDII in connection with the proposed construction and with the maintenance of Martinsville Distribution Road (Virginia Department of Highways Project Number 1844-06-07), Route 220 ThDroughfare; and WHEREAS, Martinsville City Council, having examined said proposed agreement, herewith desires to enter into said agreement and execute same on behalf of the City of Martinsville; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, in special and duly-called meeting this twenty-fifty day of June, 1953, that it doth herein approve of the aforementioned agreement and, furthermore, doth herein authorize and instruct its City Manager, Kent Mathewson, to execute said agreement for and on behalf of said City of Martinsville. ,. .. - '"-"'''';~."", '~'_''''''~__'~~'~'''H'.'~~><~"_"~,_~,_~""_>~,.,,,,",,_,,_,, <
