2 TUESDA Y APRIL 28, 1953 In recognition and appreciation of the splendid work done by the Citizens' Committee for the Bond Issue prior to the recent special bond referendum held April 14, 1953, Council adopted an appropriate resolution commending not only the committee, headed by Dr. J. A. Shackelford and consisting of 216 local citizens, but also the other interested citizens. Council also recognized with appreciation the great assistance given the committee by the local press and radio. In connection with said bond referendum or election, Council received from the Commissioners of the Election the following certified abstract of votes cast in said election: ABSTRACT OF VOTES cast in the BOND REFERENDUl.f at the Special Election held on Tuesday, April 14, 1953, HARTINSVILLE, VIRGINIA.
