4~

TUESDAY

NOV>>1BER 11. 1952

Through City Manager Mathewson the Council received a progress report

from Department of Inspections Director Clay A. Easterly with reference

to the sub-standard housing survey and report recently conducted and

presented by a committee headed by Mr. Easterly, -- said report indicating

that progress is being made towards improving local housing conditions.

Council, next, received from City Hanager Mathewson a report and analysis

covering the City' s expenditures and revenues for the fiscal quarter ended

September 30, 1952. While or although this analysis indicated that

anticipated revenues are not matching anticipated expenditures or

expenditures are slightly exceeding revenues for the period, Council expressed

the opinion that the existing deficit for the period was not sufficiently

dangerous to become alarmed about and that a review at the end of the next

~~~
8t:.
i
quarter __ ending the first six months of the current year -- would indicate
more accurately the trend of the City's operations.
An agreement permitting the Pure Oil Company to make use of currently-unused
right-of-way belonging to the City on Route 220 North by constructing a
concrete apron on said right-of-way for access to its property, subject to
cancellation of said agreement by thirty days' written notice, was approved
for City Manager Mathewson's signature.
After having receiving a report from City Manager Mathewson Which revealed
that the City has just completed its street surfacing and re-surfacing program
-
for the year __ having put down 7,199 tons of p1ant-mix at a cost of $6,976 per
ton or at least three dollars a ton less than the cost to the City would have
been had the work been let to contract rather than been done by the City --
and there being no other business to come before Council, Council was adjourned.
Clerk of Council
