<br />40 <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />OCTOBER 14. 1952 <br /> <br />In accordance with duly advertised notice, the Council next proceeded to <br /> <br />conduct a Public Hearing on the question of rezoning lots 35, 37, and 39 <br />on Rivermont Road (New Dye Plant Road), owned by Mr. R. D. Edwards, this <br /> <br />City_ There being no one present voicing any objections to said proposed <br /> <br />rezoning, Council adopted the following ordinance amending the City's <br /> <br />Planning and Zoning Code effecting such rezoning and honoring Hr. Edwards' <br /> <br />recent petition for said rezoning: <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Martinsvi11e, <br />Virginia, in regular meeting assembled this fourteenth day of <br />October, 1952, that the Zoning Map of the City of Martinsvi11e, <br />en ti t1ed RBuilding Zone Map of t..."le City of Martinsvi11e, <br />Virginia, dated September 1, 1946-, and the Zoning Ordinance of <br />the City of Martinsvi11e be amended as follows: <br /> <br />lots 35, 37, and 39 on the West side of Dye Plant Road <br />near the Corporate Limits shall be and are hereby <br />rezoned from "B-1 Business" to "A-2 Residential." <br /> <br />The terms of this Ordinance having been duly advertised in a <br />notice for Public Hearing, 'Which Public Hearing was held this <br />date, said Ordinance is hereby adopted and, an emergency existing, <br />is made effective this fourteenth day of October, 1952. <br /> <br />In the final item of business, City Manager Mathewson informed Council that <br />he has received copies of two resolutions from the 1952 Class of the Virginia <br />State Fire School, recently held at Norfolk, Virginia, in appreciation of the <br />fine services rendered the Class by Fire Marshal Clay Easterly and, also, <br /> <br />requesting and inviting him to serve as Director of the 1953 School. <br /> <br />Council was adjourned. <br /> <br />
