(See footnote) (5)

Table Footnotes:

(1) A number of (uestionnaires were on small units
which had no bearing on this report; therefore,
they are not included in the totals.

(2) Several units are fired with a mixture of coal
and wood products on intermittent periods. This
item is one wllich is very indefinite, hence no
effort was made to tabulate the exact amount of
time such firing procedures are used.

(3) A ~umber of establishments did not have a de-
finite breakdown on exact percentage of cost on
new in3tallations or other improvements which
could be clac:ified specifically for smoke con-
trol. Therefcre, in some instances where new
equipment has b~en installed in recent months
it is possible the amount herein nvted may be
somewhat less than the actual amount expended.

1"

(4) The same facts as noted in footnote (3) are
applicable.

(5) Since many of the establishments were very co-
operative to the extent of disclosing facts
and figures of their respective plant operations
cost, the coml, dttee does not feel such informa-
tion should be tabulated on an individual basis.

- 2 -
