<br />1 <1"" <br />J.d <br /> <br />January 9, 2007 <br /> <br />Tiffani Underwood, Community Planner, made brief comments about the <br /> <br />need for the City to amend our enterprise zone incentives. Currently the <br /> <br />incentive package includes a Landfill Tipping Fee Refund, but now that the <br /> <br />landfill is closed and the City no longer collects tipping fees, it is necessary to <br /> <br />amend the Enterprise Zone incentive package to reflect this change. The State <br /> <br />requires that the new incentive be something or equal or greater value and the <br /> <br />City is proposing to replace the Landfill Tipping Fee Refund with a Water <br /> <br />Connection Fee Waiver for domestic and process water service. This will <br /> <br />require a public hearing and the adoption of a Resolution. The Clerk was <br /> <br />directed to advertise for the public hearing and place on the agenda for the <br /> <br />January 23 meeting. <br /> <br />Wayne D. P. Knox, Director of Community Development, gave an overview <br /> <br />of the City's prioritized list of projects to be included in the Year 2007 Regional <br /> <br />Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy and the item will be on <br /> <br />Council's next agenda for approval and to authorize the City Manager to <br /> <br />provide this information to the U.S. Department of Commerce Economic <br /> <br />Development Administration. <br /> <br />In review of the consent agenda items to be approved at the next meeting, <br /> <br />Council asked questions of City Attorney Monday regarding the final cable bill. <br /> <br />After discussion, Mr. Monday was directed to try and negotiate again with <br /> <br />Hunton and Williams to see if they would make any further reductions in the <br />
