Council Member Anderson said he sees reversion as a

distraction right now and it does not need to be used to solve our financial

problem, but a way to improve our schools and city. He would like to see a

special called meeting next week to receive the City Manager's plan of action on

budget cuts.

Council Member Lawson agreed that reversion is not the solution right

now, but is long term and agrees with Council Member Ferrill that the two

governments need to be open and begin discussing how they can work together

to help the entire community.

Mayor Reynolds agreed with Council on openness. He suggested that

Council go back and review their notes on the reversion issue. He asked City

Manage Collins if he could have something ready for a called meeting the end

of next week and after Dan's response, a special called meeting was set for

Thursday, December 21, 2006 beginning at 4:00 p.m.

1
