<br />378 <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />NOVE)ffiER 25. 1958 <br /> <br />Your parking committee recommends that the Pannill Estate property <br />located at the corner of Depot, Ford, and Franklin streets be leased <br />for a metered parking facility on the following terms: <br /> <br />1. Term of the lease to be 5 years with monthly rental set at $200.00. <br /> <br />2. ONner to contribute $1,000 toward grading and surfacing of the <br />lot, the city to pay the balances. <br /> <br />3. Owner to relocate to the back or alley Sloe, the large bill <br />board sign t.o be as far as possible out of the ,'JaY of parking. <br /> <br />4. The city to purchase, install, and maintain the parking meters <br />as well as to IT~intain t.he lot during the period of the lease. <br /> <br />5. The owner to have the privilege of cancelling the lease after <br />the first 6 months and after 60 days notice to the city, <br />provided owner has a sale for the property. In the event the <br />lease is cancelled, the owner will pqy to the city 50% of the <br />un-amortized amount spent by the city for grading and surfacing <br />over and above the $1,000 contributed qy the owner in accordance <br />with paragraph #2. <br /> <br />Meanwhile, Council referred to City 11anager Hirst an offer from the G. M. <br /> <br />Finley Heirs whereby certain property on Bridge Street will be made available <br /> <br />to the City for parking lot purposes without charge for the next two years. <br /> <br />Because of inability to obt.ain participation on the part of certain property <br /> <br />owners involved in the proposed curb-and-gutter construction for Maplewood <br /> <br />Court in accordance with proposal suggested qy City Council after its <br /> <br />November 11th meeting, Mr. William Grinus, Jr., and others of },Japlewood <br /> <br />Court again requested Council to approve the a~ended petition submitted <br /> <br />by }~. Grinus on November 11th. Council took no action other than to suggest <br /> <br />that Councilman Brown, an owner of property on Haplewood Court, and Mr. Grinus <br /> <br />confer and report back to Council at Council's next regular meeting. <br /> <br />In connection with the "Notice of Notion of A~nexation of Territory" referred <br /> <br />t.o in Council minutes of November 11, 1958, Attorney I. W. Cubine, counsel for <br /> <br />the pet.itioners, appeared before Council to answer such questions about the <br /> <br />petition as Council might ask and, also, to request that Council adopt a <br /> <br />resolution or ordinance prescribed in the statutes, stating Council's position <br />
