304 TUESDAY APRIL 22. 1958 the Henry County Courthouse property under conditions made a part of the memorandum of a conference between Henry County and City of Martinsville officials under date of February 26, 1958. Upon being advised by City Attorney Stone that the City can not distribute or share any proceeds from parking meters with any other agency, Council instructed that in acknowledging receipt of the resolution the Board of Supervisors be informed of the necessary exception taken to the provision pertaining to shared receipts. Upon recommendation of a special committee, Council placed on first reading an ordinance amending the Plumbing Code to incorporate the following recommended changes: Existing Section 144 Vitrified clay pipe and other types of pipe permitted. All vitrified clay or concrete pipe shall conform to the American Society for Testing Materials "standard specifications for clay sewer or concrete ~ipe" (serial designation C thirteen-thirty-five). Composition pipe such as Bernico, Orangeburg, Transite or equal may be used in lieu of terra cotta and cast iron if approved by the plumbing inspector. In no case shall any house sewer be covered at the joints until the plumbing inspector inspects these joints to see that they are made according to specifications as detailed herein. The public works department shall have the right to require any house sewer to be uncovered for inspection it it is back filled in violation of this section.
