~74 TUESDAY FEBRUARY 25. 193.-~ The regular semi-monthly meeting of the Council of the City of }hrtinsville, Virginia, with l-hyor John vI. Shultz presiding, was held in the Council Chamber, City Hall, Tuesday, February 25, 1958, at 7:.30 P.N., all members, with the exception of Councilman C. C. Donavant, being present, as follows: }~yor and Councilman John W. Shultz; Vice-V~yor and Councilman E. E. Stone; and Counc ilmen B. H. Hill and J. R. U alker . After the invocation, COUllCil approved as read the minutes of its meetings held February 11, 1918 and February 18, 1958. In accordance with dul7-advertised public notice, Council conducted a public hearing on }~. George L. Nease's December 17th (1957) petition requesting the rezoning to "B-1 Business" certain of his property on the west side of l1emorial Boulevard South. There being no objections registered and the Planning Commission already having gone on record with the Council (see minutes of February 4, 1958) as recommending the rezoning--including certain other properties adjacent thereto--, Council granted }~. Keasels request and accepted the Planning Comrr~ssion's reco~Jaendation by adopting the following ordinance arfiending the City's Zoning Code and Zoning Yap: BE IT OIillAINED by the Council of the City of YJartinsville, Virginia, in regular meeting assembled this twenty-fifth day of February, 1958, that the Zoning Code and Zoning Map of the City be and is hereby amended to provide that the properties within the following boundaries not already so zoned shall forthwith be zoned "B-1 Business": The south line of the old Dent Stultz property; the west line of Memorial Boulevard South; the south corporate line; and the first creek to the west of Memorial Boulevard South in this area; all of wLich property lies to the west of }~morial Boulevard South. An emergency existing, this ordinance shall be in force from date of passage.
