<br />~70 <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />FEBRUARY 11. 1958 <br /> <br />license plate as required herein shall be <br />not less than one dollar ($1.00) nor more <br />dollars ($25.00), which shall not relieve <br />duty to pay the license tax. <br /> <br />subject to a fine of <br />than twenty-five <br />such ower of the <br /> <br />lUlY ordinance of the City of Martinsville heretofore passed which <br />is in conflict with this ordinance is hereqy repealed. <br /> <br />, <br /> <br />In presenting a report to Council on a survey of the need of a regional <br /> <br />detention home, City Yanager Hirst informed Council that a meeting will <br /> <br />be held February 28th for interested governing bodies to consider further <br /> <br />study of this subject; whereupon, Council requested that the City of <br /> <br />}'~rtinsvil1e be represented at the February 28th meeting to indicate <br /> <br />interest in further study. <br /> <br />Upon recomruendation of City 11anager Hirst, and qy a recorded vote which <br /> <br />was unanimous, Council transferred from the General Fund's emergency account <br /> <br />the sum of $900.00 with which to purchase a yard truck for the City Prison <br /> <br />Farm Quarry. <br /> <br />In response to an inquiry from the Board of Assessors, Council indicated that <br /> <br />it would confer with the Board at Council's special meeting scheduled for <br /> <br />February 18th. <br /> <br />At the request of Councilman Hill, Council agreed to consider again the <br /> <br />Tax Study Advisory Group's report of November 12, 1955 on its findings with <br /> <br />respect to local business and occupational taxation. <br /> <br />City Manager Hirst advised Council that he will soon render a report on the <br /> <br />comments and recomn~ndations contained in the official Audit Report for the <br /> <br />fiscal year ended June 30, 1957. <br /> <br />
