<br />~38 <br /> <br /> <br />TUESDAY NOVEMBER 12 ~ 1957 <br /> <br />(b) Jointly with a water extension, sanitary sewer lines will be <br />constructed to serve all lots where there can be gravity flaw to <br />an existing city public sewer line or to the proposed location of <br />an outfall sewer line as may be planned by the city. The constru- <br />ction of sewer lims in anticipation of an outfall shall not <br />constitute an obligation upon the city to construct such an outfall. <br /> <br />(c) Right-of-ways of streets will be graded to a minimum width of 40 <br />feet with the centerline gradient profile to be approved by the <br />city engineer. <br /> <br />(d) Water and sewer lines will be laid according to city specifications <br />as to size and type of pipe and fittings, fire hydrants, depth, <br />locations and grade alignment of pipe and laterals, type and <br />locations of manholes and other engineering requirements. City' <br />standard no. 1 and city standard no. 2 shall govern the installation <br />or water and sewer utilities respectively. <br /> <br />(e) Before and after lines are covered they will meet City Public Works <br />DepartJIent inspection and approval. <br /> <br />(f) Pavement base shall be 5" of compacted stone. <br /> <br />(g) Streets will be paved to width or conformity with Virginia Department <br />of Highway requirements. <br /> <br />(h) Plans and profiles of water and sewer lines shall be prepared and <br />submi tted to tba city both before construction and after completion <br />of cons truction for the permanent records o.f the city Public Works <br />Department. <br /> <br />Section 4. Streets and roadways in state systEm. <br />The construction of water line extensions along streets or roadways paved <br />and within the primary c:r secondary system of Virginia Departmnt of <br />Highways shall require conformity with Section 3(b), (d), (e) and (h), <br />and, wherein property abutting on such streets or roadways is subdivided <br />or resubdivid.ed after the effective date of this ordinance such <br />subdivision or resubdivision shall be in accordance with the design <br />standards of Section VI of the City Subdivision Ordinance and subject to <br />approval by the City Planning Commission as provided in Section 3(a) of <br />this ordinance. <br /> <br />Section 5 . Conditions applicable to all extensions. <br /> <br />(a) The construction and finaroing of all improvements will be the <br />responsibility of others than the city who will enter into a <br />contract with the Coumil. <br /> <br />(b) Water and sewer lines, upon acceptance and approval by the city must <br />be conveyed by instrument to and will become the property of the city. <br /> <br />(c) Property to be connected to the water or sewer lines will be zoned or <br />protected by restrictive deed covenants acceptable to the City <br />Planning Commission and Council. Such zoning or covenants shall <br />specify that they will be subject to future zoning actions by a duly <br />constituted zoning agency as may have authority over the concerned <br />area. <br />
