<br />Your Cornrr,j_ssion, at t~le close of its pv.blic hearing, gave con-
<br />sid ('ration tn this petiti:m and voted to make the follO\';ng
<br />recofmllendation to Co"Cncil: "That the areE1 as requ.ested be rezonen

<br />Trl.e CormYlission stated that in its opinion this rezoning was a
<br />logical extension of the present B-2 zoning along the Carolina and
<br />Northwestern railroad which borders this property.
<br />
<br />The only person present for the public hearing held by your Com-
<br />mission was the petitioner, Hr. E. G. Ramsey; however, a letter
<br />was received by the Commission from Hr. Frank Hooker .Tho owns all
<br />of the property imI'1ediately 2.cross Cherr.y Street from the property
<br />in ol'estion ,.[hich letter stated that :-le would not object to the
<br />petitioner's reauest.

<br />The Planning Commissic-m respectfull;y su.bmi ts the above recommendation
<br />for Council's further consideration.

<br />Messrs. N. R. b~rroughs and E. A. Stover, representing the First Baptist
<br />
<br />ChlJrch, appeared bf~fore Council in suppor-t of Mr. Stover's recent letter on
<br />
<br />behalf of the First Baptist Church in connecti:m 'dith their 1955 reouest that
<br />
<br />Starling Avenue be widened on one or both sides from Church street to }~Jlberry
<br />
<br />Road. Council took the matter lJ.nder considerati-:m.

<br />Ci ty Mana'jer 'Erst presented in \.[ri ting certain suggested provisions, as

<br />follows, for Council's consideration relative to the recommended revision of
<br />
<br />the Cjty's subdivisjon ordinance appliceble to extension of utility services
<br />
<br />outside the corp()rate lirr,its:

<br />Sug:;ested inclusions in an ordinar.ce regul&ting extension of utility
<br />lines outside the corporate limits of the City.

<br />1. Each extension be s1Jb.ject t" individual consideration by the
<br />Ci ty Council. Each bl siness or manvfe.cturing operation
<br />desiring connection to City water or seHer service outside
<br />the corporate limits shall make individl.lal appUce.tion to the
