<br />1 <br /> <br />TUES DAY <br /> <br />JULY 23, 1957 <br /> <br />City Manager Hirst informed Council that the local civil defense organization has <br /> <br />received recognition by state Civil Defense officials as having the best organized <br /> <br />civil defense unit in the State of Virginia as a result of its showing during the <br /> <br />recent July 12th exercise. <br /> <br />Upon recommendation of the City Manager, Council ordered the releasing of a <br /> <br />construction easement--no longer deemed necessary-- obtained by the City from Mr.-s. <br /> <br />Mary A. Burch during the construction of Memorial Boulevard. <br /> <br />Council unanimously went on record as concurring with the Henry .county Board of <br /> <br />Supervisors in selecting the name, liThe T. G.
