Webb and Associates of the f:inn of City <br />and 'l'O\'ffi Plarming Associates in Chapel Hill, Horth Carolina and has obtained <br />a proposal from both the Eighway Department and Webb and Associates which <br />proposals are attached hereto. These refer to proposals outlining the total <br />planning program for Martinsville involving 2n expenditure of $J$ ,000. This <br />cost is to be borre by three agemies in the followinG manner: <br /> <br />The City of l:Iartinsville <br />The Virginia Departr..ent of Higlr{m;ys <br />The Federal Bureau of Public Works <br /> <br />$11,250. <br />1,250 <br />2,500 <br />$15,000 <br /> <br />Your Planning Corrrnission, after much discussion and consideration of these <br />proposals respectfully recomnends their acceptance and adoption. <br /> <br />The 1Iartinsvil1e City Plarming Commission respectfully submits this recomm- <br />endation to Council for its further consideration. <br /> <br />We are taking the liberty of having representatives present at your next <br />meeting to discuss this proposal and to answer any- questions you may have. <br /> <br />Respectfully, <br /> <br />~_;c <br />i~~ <br />,T.:::C <br />~ /' <br /> <br />Irving R. Walker H. Graves, and accepting the Planning Commission's <br /> <br />suggcGtion, Council adopted the following ordinance aT.lending a similar ordinance <br /> <br />to provide that city administrative representation on the Planning Commission <br /> <br />shall no longer be compulsory, as it was prior to the 1956 amendment to the 1950 <br /> <br />Code of Virginia: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE TO AllEl-ID AN CRDINANCE ADOPTED BY MARTINSVILLE CITY COUNCIL <br />JUNE 29, 1936, AND AS A1IENDED, WHF.RE;BY AND WHEREIN THERE WAS EST-~BLISHED <br />A CITY PIANNING AND ZOND~G COMMISSION FOR THE CITY OF MARTDSVILLE, <br />VIEW n'IA <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Martinsvil1e, Virginia, in <br />regular meeting assembled this t'lmnty-second day of January, 1957, that <br />the ordinance providing for a Plarmir...g and Zoning Commission for the City <br />of Martinsville, as adopted by Martinsville City Council June 29, 1936, <br />and as al'l:ended, be and is hereby anended to conform with the provisions of <br />Section 15-901 of the Code of Vjrginia (1950, and as amended), as follows: <br />
