92 TUESDAY DEC~1BER 11. 1956 At the suggestion of the Mayor's Commission on Human Values, Council agreed to hold a joint meeting with the Conmd ssion on Thursday, January 3, 1957, at the Patrick Henry ElementE-ry School, at which time the Conmdssion will present its final report in connection with its assignment. In appreciation and recognition of the splendid work of tbe Comrnission, C01.mcil m:thorized the prepare_tion and prec;entEction of certificates to the incHvich::al Commission members and, also, C01;.ncil adopted the follo"ling resolution: vJHEREAS, the City Council of Hartinsville, Vi~"ginia is this date 8_dvised that the Mayor's COl!unis~~ion on Hl'lnan Vell-es proposes to Sl;bmit the conpletec1 report of its strdy on Jenuary 3, 1957, and, J..1HEREAS, the COl:ncil in anticipation of t1-1e report realizes the outst,:mding I"ork it will reprec,ent to the present and fl:tt;re Hartin sville community, and, r.mEPJ~.S, the Council at this time ooes believe it to be especially appropriate to recognize tllose who have participated in tbe work of the Commis~: ion, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED by the City COl:ncil of Hartinsville, Virginia that the City Council does acknowledge on behalf of itself and the ci tizens of MartinsvilJ.e its sincere appreciation of the exceptional effort and tireless devotion of time that the many meJ:1bers of the Hayor's Commission on Hunan Vales have given to the accomplishment of the Cormnission' S l,ndertaldng, and, BE IT FlRTHER RESO!~VED that the Cit;' C01;.ncil does direct that the names of the Gener&l Chairman, the Program Director, the members of the Commission St&ff, and the chairmen of the several committees be made a part of the minutes of this Council and that the names of the other members anc those \Tho have participated ill the work of the COInnission be secured from the General Chairman and placed in the records of the Clerk of t1'lis COl.ncil, bnd, BE IT FL RTHER RI~SOLVED the. t there be prepared appropriate certifi- cates for each individual participant in the work of the Commission which certificates are to be presented at the &ppropriate time to the members of the Commission and which are to bear testimony to this resolution of approciation b:T the City Council.
