<br />~ <br /> <br />:lliESDAY <br /> <br />NOVEMBER 13. 1956 <br /> <br />The regular semi-monthly meeting of' the Council of the City of Martinsvil1e, <br /> <br />Virginia, with Mayor F. V. ~oodson presiding, was held in the Council Chamber, <br /> <br />City Hall, on Tuesday, November 13, 1956, at 7:30 P.M., all members being <br /> <br />present, as follows: Mayor and Councilman F. V. Woodson; Vice-Mayor and <br /> <br />Councilman J. W. Shultz; and Councilmen B. H. Hill, E. E. Stone, and J. R. <br /> <br />Walker. <br /> <br />After the invocation, Council approved as read the minutes of its regular <br /> <br />meeting held October 23, 1956. <br /> <br />As ordered by Council during its regular meeting held October 23, 1956, a <br /> <br />duly-advertised public hearing, being the first business item on Council's <br /> <br />'~C,.'.'~ <br />;n <br />,l~ <br />I~ <br /> <br />agenda, was conducted on the Pannill Knitting Company petition and Planning <br /> <br />Commission's October 23rd recommendation thereon pertaining to the proposed <br /> <br />rezoning from "B-1 B1.;siness" to "A-l Residential" of a portion of Pannil1 <br /> <br />Knitting Company property fronting and lying on the south side of Mulberry <br /> <br />Street extension, approximately one hundred feet east of Cleveland Avenue. <br /> <br />Mr. William G. Pannill, representing the petitioner, appeared before Council <br /> <br />and discussed the matter with Council, after which discussion--there being <br /> <br />no other persons present wishing to be heard on this proposal--Council <br /> <br />adopted the following ordinance effecting the requested and recommended <br /> <br />rezoning, thereby amending the City's Zoning Code and Map: <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Martinsville, <br />Virginia, in regular meeting assembled this thirteenth day <br />of November, 1956, that the City's Zoning Code and Map be <br />and is hereby amended to provide that: <br />
