S. Hodnett presiding, was held in the Council Chamber, <br /> <br />City Hall, on Tuesday, April 10, 1956, at 7:30 P.M., all members beinc present, <br /> <br />as follows: Uayor and Councilman R. S. Hodnett; Vice-I,layor and Councilman C. P. <br /> <br />Craig; and Councilmen 3. H. Hill, W. T. Turner, and J. E. Walker. <br /> <br />Aft8r the invocation by Hayor Hodnett, minutes of the :ceular Cmmcil meetings <br /> <br />-- <br /> <br />held r.1arch 20th arJd 2E,th and of the special Council meet:i.11[; held Itarch 2e, 1956 <br /> <br />were aD1JrOved as read. <br /> <br />In response to a petition presented Council on J<;;arch 28, 1~66 by property ovmers <br /> <br />and residents of Knollwood Place--requestinr; the replacing of an inadequate 'water <br /> <br />line sect:i.on '::Jy an adequate suc.'r1 line on that street--Souncil received the following <br /> <br />memorandum report and recom.rnendation thrOUGh City L:anager Iiathevrson, in which report <br /> <br />and recorrmenclation Council concurred: <br /> <br />As per City Council's request I have made an investiGation of the possibility <br />of the replacement of the 2-inc"1 .rater line alone; Eulberry Road beginning at <br />the end of the 8-inch line and extendi11[; to Y.J101lvrood Place and the replacement <br />of a segment of l-inch and 2-inch water line along Knoliwood Place from <br />Uulberry to the 6-inch line. <br /> <br />There is, at the present time, a 2-inch 'water line vihich begins at the end <br />of the 8-inch water main adjacent to the residence of Mr. Vi. R. Broaddus and <br />extends southvr8.rd along Mulberry Road a short distance beyond the City limits. <br />This :2-inch line serves as a fecCier linG for the houses fronting on IJulberry <br />Road, Corn Ta.ssel Trail, Whittle Road and Knollwood Place. T~18 residerces <br />alo~r; i(nollwood P1DCO are being supplied with a 2-inch line y,l1.:Lch begins at <br />the intersection of !.:ulberry Road and Knollwood Pl2.ce and extends along <br />Knollwood Place to a point adjacent to the reisdence of Mr. John Yearr:2.n and <br />at tha.t point roc;uces to a I-inch hne vrhich extends approxima.tely 175 <br />additional feet to the 'oegirming of a 6-inch line wh:lch viaS installed <br />recent1y by Hr. :3tafford Yrhi ttle. This 6-inch line extends for the reJIl.aining <br />length of Knoll'.'{Ood place. <br /> <br />There are no funds available in this fiscal ye2.r's 'iJ1.1dc;et for the replacement <br />of the sections of vrater line as requested by the residents along Knollvrood <br />Place. <br />
