Y <br /> <br />MAH~;~2.c2.L ~~62 <br /> <br />At the conclusion of the City Manager's presentation and following some discussion, <br /> <br />Council unanimously accepted the recorrnnendation of the City's engineers that the <br /> <br />sewaf,t, disposal plant site be that of the George W. Wells property, as described <br /> <br />hereinabove. Council, also unanimously, authorized the immediate exercising of <br /> <br />the pur-chase option agreement vvi th Mr. Wells, i.e., autharized the purchase of <br /> <br />the Wells property, and confirmed and. ratified the recent executing by City <br /> <br />r-- <br /> <br />officials of an easement agreement with Lanier Farm, Inc., as hereinabove described. <br /> <br />Council expressed its appreciation to Lanier Farm, Inc., in recognition of its <br /> <br />cooperation in making possible the relocation of the proposed Mulberry Creek <br /> <br />Interceptor and related advantages, and also to Mr. George W. Brown, Director of <br /> <br />Public Works, in recognition of his initiative and foresight, and to members of <br /> <br />the City I S engineering division, for their diligence and assistance, culminating <br /> <br />in the satisfactory and preferable conclusions adopted by Council, as hereinabove. <br /> <br />City Manager Hirst informed Council that the City has received an offer of $1l~1~,600.00 <br /> <br />Federal Aid towards the cost of constructing a phase of the City's sewerage system <br /> <br />improvements program and, also, a document--if executed--indicating acceptance of <br /> <br />this award as well as compliance with certain prmrisions required by various <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />governmental agencies.
