Scearce comn1aint of alleged damages to his <br /> <br />property '1t 1108 Chatham Heights as a result of widening and improving Route 57, <br />Council directed that the City continue its offer until August 1, 1961, to <br />perform certain work at the property, with opportunity given M.r. and Mrs. <br />Scearce either to accept this offer by August 1, 1961, or an amount in cash from <br />the CUy equal to the estimated cost of the work if performed by the City. <br /> <br />By J.etter of July 5, 1961, from its Executive Vice-President, the ADPalachian <br />Power C or-many accepted the City's offer of $45,700.00 in exchange of Appalachian's <br />electric system facilities within the area annexed to the C i"ty as of January 1, <br />1960, said exchange to become official as of July 20, 1961, as to those facilities <br />serving Appalachian's customers wi thin the area; and August 1, 1961, as to the <br />transfer of Appalachian I s street-lighting system in the area. Richardson) a contract <br />to construct a sewer line along Cherokee Trail in accordance with the City's over- <br />all sewerage system inmrovements program, this award, at a contract orice of <br />$15,384.h4, being made a part of the contract presently held by this firm for <br />cur:c(:mt projects now under corn truction. <br />
