Council, <br /> <br />meanwhile, acknowledged receipt of an inquiry from VI'. p. S. Ford as to whether <br /> <br />the City is interested in selling its oronerty in that area, already acquired <br /> <br />for a new M.micipal Building or City Hal1. In discussing other city-owned <br /> <br /> <br />pronerties, Council auttorized City Manager Hirst to demo1ish the City's house <br /> <br /> <br />at 23 EJlsworth Strpet inasnmch as the cost of improving and/or renovating this <br /> <br /> <br />building for tenancy can not be ,justified. <br /> <br />In response to a suggestion that twelve-minute parking meters be installed on <br /> <br /> <br />the south side of East Main Street opnosite the Virginia Alcoholic Beverage <br /> <br /> <br />Control store, Council went on record as not being in favor of the proposal. <br /> <br />Upon City Manager Hirst's recommendation, Council agreed to consider Welfare <br /> <br /> <br />Department financial requirements for tl1e current year and its estimated needs <br /> <br /> <br />for the forthcoming fiscal year at the special meeting of Council scheduled for <br /> <br />consideration of tl:e easement agreement offer recently submitted to Forest Park <br /> <br />Country Club. <br /> <br />Council was adjourned. <br /> <br /> <br />w.
