<br />,64 <br /> <br />TTJESDA Y <br /> <br />JA'ffiAH.Y 24, 1961 <br /> <br />City Manager Hirst called CouncH's attention to the fact that preliminary <br /> <br /> <br />work has begun on the City's 1961-62 budget and that, at the present time, <br /> <br /> <br />there seoms little liklihood that any additional monies, over and above the <br /> <br /> <br />current budget, will be available to finance next year's budget although <br /> <br /> <br />already there are some indications that the City School Board will request <br /> <br /> <br />an increase over their current budget. <br /> <br />Councill.Jas informed that an updating of the City's Building Code is in <br /> <br /> <br />process for presentation to Council in the near future. <br /> <br />Council acknowledged receipt of a petition submitted by Lanier Farm, Inc., <br /> <br /> <br />dated January 24, 1961, requesting the construction of curb-and-gutter-and- <br /> <br /> <br />sidewa1;( (on the City's shared-cost basis) along both sides of Spruce Street <br /> <br /> <br />from Parkview Avenue to Brookdale Street, Lanier Farm being the owner of propert:r <br /> <br />fronting on both sides of this block. <br /> <br />In response to complaints relayed from several citizens through CoundI41,Stone, <br /> <br />Council reauested that a reactivation of the Smoke i\batement Committee be <br /> <br />considered to eliminate, on a voluntary basis, air pollution emanating from <br /> <br />several local sources. <br /> <br />Council was adjourned. <br /> <br /> <br />,,~ <br /> <br />, Clerk of Council <br />
