<br />22: <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />CCTOBER 11, 1960 <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, <br />in regular meetirg assembled this eleventh day of October, 1960, <br />that it hereby publicly recognizes and commends, in gratitude and <br />appreciation, the Mart ins vi lIe Junior Chamber of Commerce for its <br />outstanding contribution and example of community service in makiJ:€ <br />a "dream come truell through its Cormnunity Recreation Center; and <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be forwarded <br />to the Martinsville Junior Chaniber of Commerce. <br /> <br />,..- <br /> <br />Copies of the Report on Audit, as prepared by Alexanier Grant and. Company, <br /> <br />covering the City's fiscal year ended June 30, 1960, were distributed to roombers <br /> <br />of C oun:: il. <br /> <br />In response to an offer sub:r.rLtted by Mr. J. Ford Burgess, as relayed through <br /> <br />Mayor Wilson, to purchase a triangular tract of land owned by the City and <br /> <br />located at the intersection of Memorial Boulevard, Broad street, and Cheshire <br /> <br />street, Council agreed to view the property and confer with Mr. Burgess in the <br /> <br />near future. <br /> <br />Council was adjourned. <br /> <br />.- <br /> <br /> <br />- <br />
