Council accepted with appreciation and cOl1'JIrendation a request from the Martinsville ,""-- Volunteer Fire Company for an immediate reduction of fifty dollars ($50.00) per month in the City's monthly allocation to the Volunteer Fire Company, thus adjusting the monthly payment to one hundred dollars ($100.00) per month. Acknovrledging the follrn'ring reports and reconnllendations of the Pla.nni~ Commission, Council called for a duly-advertised public hearing to be conducted by Council in its Council Chamber, City Hall, Tuesday, November 8, 1960, at 7:15 P.M., on a proposal to amend the City's Zoning Code and Map by adding thereto two new zoning classifications and, also, by making certain other changes in the current Zoning Code: - Your Planning Commission, at a special meeting on Wednesday, September 28, 1960, cornidered a petition referred to them by Council, which petition was submitted by the OVffiers of 15 Cleveland Avenue, Inc., requesting a clarifi- cation of the zoning as applied to their property by Council in 1959. After due consideration of this matter, the Planning Cor:nnission wishes to advise Council as follows: It was the intent of the Commission in consideration of the original petition for rezoning of this property that the petitioner's property be rezoned to a B-1 Business classification and that the owners place such covenants on the property as i"tould limit its use and that its uses as listed in the P-2 Professional classification as written in the present draft of a. proposed neW' zoning ordinance, be applied with the exception of funeral homes and photographers' studios. It is the understanding of the Commission that no covenants have as yet been recorded against this property and it is the recommendation of the Commission that such covenants be recorded against this property at this time, these covenants to list in detail all of tJlese uses. It is the feeling of the Commission that the recordation of such covenants at this time would be sufficient to clarify the zoning as allovTed the owners of 15 Cleveland Avenue, Inc.
