<br />I.JHEREAS, Harvin L. Hill, duly appointed Right-of-Way Regotiator for the
<br />City of Martins,rille, the Commomrealth of Virginia, and the Federal
<br />Government, in connection with the improving and vridening of U. S. Route
<br />58 and Virginia Route 57 within the corporate limits of the City of
<br />l~rtinsville and between Booker Road and Bob Gregory Street, by letter
<br />dated April 19, 1960, advised the Council of the City of PRrtinsville
<br />that he has exhausted all available means within the limitations of his
<br />authority, vrithout success, towards ptlrchasing the fee simple title to
<br />that certain parcel of land owned ~J Mrs. Lucy E. Ramsey and known and
<br />described as Parcel No. 017 as right-of-way for the aforementioned
<br />constrJction project; and
<br />
<br />'i-lHEREAS, said stri'J or parcel of land is necessary for the construction,
<br />re-construction, alteration, and maintenance of said street; now,
<br />therefore,
<br />
<br />BE IT PcESOLVED by the Cmlncil of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, in
<br />special and duly-called meeting held April 21, 1960, that on behalf of
<br />the governments hereinabove mentioned Claude E. Taylor, Jr., a:l attorney
<br />at lavr, be and is hereby appointed attorney a:ld age':1t ,tlith authorization
<br />to institute and conduct condemnation proceedings to acquire said land
<br />in fee simple, together with necessary easements, and as its attorney to
<br />make oath to the petition, all in accord vrlth the statutes in this State
<br />and the provisions of the Charter of the City of Martinsvine, Virginia
<br />in such cases made and provided.

<br />WHEREAS, l,nrvin L. Hill, duly appointed Right-of-Way Negotiator for the
<br />City of }nrtinsville, the Commonwealth of Virginia, and the Federal
<br />Government, in connection with the improving and widening of U. S. Route
<br />58 and Virginia Route 57 within the corporate limits of the City of
<br />Martinsville and between Booker Road and Bob Gregory Street, by letter
<br />dated April 19, 1960, advised the Council of the City of Hartinsville
<br />that he has exhausted all available means within the limitations of his
<br />a11thority, without success, towards ~lrchasing the fee simple title to
<br />that certain parcel of land owned by }~s. Erie Sue Ramsey and known and
<br />described as Parcel No. 043 as right-of-way for the aforementioned
<br />construction project; and
<br />
<br />1-IHEREAS, said strip or parcel of land is necessary for the construction,
<br />re-construction, alteration, and maintenance of said street; now,
<br />therefore,
<br />
<br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, in
<br />special and duly-caned meeting held April 21, 1960, that on behalf of
<br />the governments hereinabove mentioned Claude E. Taylor, Jr., an attorney
<br />at law, be and is hereby appointed attorney and agent with authorization
<br />to institute and conduct condemnation proceedings to acquire said land
<br />in fee simple, together with necessary easements, and as its attorney to
<br />make oath to the netition, all in accord with the statutes in this State
<br />and the prOVisions of the Charter of the City of }1artinsville, Virginia,
<br />in such cases made and provided.
