<br />1~ <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />MAHCH.?:.2..L 1960 <br /> <br />."...~.- <br /> <br />After recelvlng a written repart from the director of public <br />health statirg that the holder of a permit has violated the provisions <br />of this Section, and giving the particulars of such violation or violations, <br />the Council may, in its sole discretion, revoke said permit. <br /> <br />In response to an inquiry from Council, City Attorney Taylor submitted his opinion-- <br /> <br />citing as authority Section 22-107 of the Code of Virginia--that school boards are <br /> <br />authorized to bOTOW monies from the Literary Fum of Virginia without submitting <br /> <br />the question of borrowing to a referendum for approval. <br /> <br />Mr. R. P. Gravely, Jr., and other representatives of the 1Iartimville-Henry County <br /> <br />Airport Development Corporation, appeared before Coumil and requested that the <br /> <br />City contribute ~~10,000.00 towards the cost (estimated at $21,000.00) of constructing <br /> <br />a shop building, an office-waiting room building, a ten-un:i.t tee-hanger, and towards <br /> <br />cost of improving grounds on the City's property now leased to the Corporation, <br /> <br />some of these projects being necessitated by recent damage from snovv-weight to the <br /> <br />present City-owned building. Should the Ci 4Y" underwrite the suggested share, the <br /> <br />Airport group wOllld agree to a revised agreement based on the follovdng suggested <br /> <br />terms : <br /> <br />1. Property reserved far airport be reduced to the area necessary for use <br />during next 10 years--includinf: present active area, clear zones on both <br />ends of sc,rip to boundary of property, adequate space on s ides of strip <br />for safety, ani far such construction as may be planned, and if possible <br />a provision for a cross-ruYll'my. <br /> <br />2. 10-year extension on lease. <br /> <br />3. Rental of ~pl,250 per year. <br /> <br />4. City to be responsible for fire, extended coverage, and liability insurance <br />on property and structures. <br /> <br />5. City to be responsible for major maintainance, repair, and replacements of <br />property. (On a programmed, budget-funded basis if possible.) <br /> <br />6. That reasonable minimum maintainance of the joint-use access road to the <br />airport property be authorized and budgeted by the city. <br />
