Baldwin appeared before Council and requested <br /> <br />necessary legal action Qy Council to effect the requested closing of that <br /> <br />portion of Sellers Street between West Church Street and North Memorial Boulevard, <br /> <br />near Fayette street, which request was filed with Council on November 30, 1959. <br /> <br />In view of certain developments subsequent to Council's viewing the property, <br /> <br />Council suggested that representatives of the City confer with the owners of <br /> <br />the property and attempt to work out a mutually-satisfactory plan, the City <br /> <br />representatives keeping in mind such implied commitments as may have already <br /> <br />been indicated ~ Council to the owners. <br /> <br />Council continued for consideration at its next regular meeting the expiration <br /> <br />on January 31, 1960 of the terms of Mrs. Anne F. Zachary and l-fr. Willis C. Milton <br /> <br />as members of the Human Values Connnission; however, Council acknm.rledged receipt <br /> <br />of a letter from Mr. Milton requesting that he not be reappointed. <br /> <br />Council approved the request of Mr. R. D. Edwards, subject to execution of required <br /> <br />agreement setting forth terms and conditions under the City's policy governing <br /> <br />the extension of City utilities outside the corporate limits, which request was <br /> <br />for permission to connect to and extend the City's water main to serve Mr. Edwards' <br /> <br />proposed development in the Rivermont Heights-Edwards Street-Venna Street area. <br /> <br />Council accepted the proposal of Hr. Charlie M. Finney whereby Mr. Finney will <br /> <br />exchange certain property with the City, without cost, located on the west side <br /> <br />of Memorial Boulevard between the Norfolk & Western Railway overpass and Fayette <br /> <br />Street. <br /> <br />Council was adjourned. <br /> <br />.~ <br /> <br />~)~~ <br /> <br /> <br />/ <br />__)( a.
