Ben P. fllillips' August 11th request for a reduction <br /> <br />in water rates applicable to him as a non-resident or for furnishing garbage <br /> <br />collection se~rice at no additional cost, Council denied said request or <br /> <br />petition. <br /> <br />COlli1cil continued to its next re&~ar meeting City Treasurer William R. <br /> <br /> <br />Shumate's request for salary increases of $15.00 and $25.00 per month for <br /> <br /> <br />his deputies Ruth G. Winn and J. S. Beck, respectively, or a total of ~p40.CO <br /> <br /> <br />per montb increase in the allowance to the City Treasurer for the collection <br /> <br />of Cit:r utility accounts. <br /> <br />
