These represent-

atives also recommended that the landing runways at the City's airport be so

marked--the representatives agreeing so to do--that the field would be used

only for emergency aircraft landings and with no liability upon the City.

Council then agreed, subject to a letter of agreement, to allow the local

Civil Air Patrol unit to use facilities at the City's airport site for" ground

instruction" only and for a reasonable period of time, with no liability upon

the City, until such time the CAP quarters can be transferred to the new

Blue Ridge Airport.

In acknowledging receipt of the following bids for construction of the

following sewer lines, Council accepted the lowest bid, i.e., submitted by

Laramore Construction Company (in the amount of $7,373.50)~

1,471 feet of 8" VC pipe; and 70 feet of 411 VC laterals; to extend line
4-12 (north from Pond Street line and east to Oakdale Street, parallel
to rear lines of properties fronting south side of Mulberry Road, first
block); and to lines to serve portions of Salem Street, Sellers Street
and Manilla Street.

Hackler-Seymour Metal Works, Inc.
Prillaman & Pace, Inc.
Laramore Construction Company

. $8,664.30;
. $8,591.00; and
$7 , 373 . 50 .

Council was adjourned.

- 1;1.
