<br />4 <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />DECEMBER 1 4. 122.2 <br /> <br />no objections to the proposed Clmendment(s), Council effected same by adopting <br /> <br />the following ordinance: <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Mart,insville, Virginia, in <br />regular meeting ctssembled this 14th day of December, 1965, that 'Section <br />X of the Zoning Code of the City of Martinsville be--and is here by-- <br />amEmded so that paragraph "b" of :Subsection J (C-1 District) shall read <br />as follows: <br /> <br />One wall or painted accesso~y sign, denoting the name of the <br />occupant of the premises, on each wall in which there is a <br />primary or secondary entrance to the general public. Such sign <br />shall have a maximum area of three (3) square feet for each <br />lineal foot of the shortest building frontage occupied by a <br />single permitted use. <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that there is hereby added the following paragraph, <br />identified as paragraph "e": <br /> <br />For each premises having accessory vehicular service entrances, <br />one identification wall sign over each such entrance, having a <br />maximum area of one square foot for each lineal foot of entrance <br />opening. Such sign shall serve only to identify the general <br />purpose of such entrance and shall bear no reference to a specific <br />name or product sold on the premises. <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the application of the foregoing amendment(s), <br />as affecting the J. C. Penney Company operations in the Patrick Henry <br />Mall, shall be consistent and in conformance with the p:>:>oposal "lnd <br />recommendations thereon submitted by the Planning Commission to the <br />Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia. <br /> <br />In continuing its consideration of the CATV franchise ordinance placed on first <br /> <br />reading November 23, 1965, and after accepting a suggestion from Mr. Jackson <br /> <br />L. Kiser, Attorney at Law and Counsel for Radio Station WMVA, that the word <br /> <br />"initiating" be deleted from Paragraph IIg" of Section 1 of said ordinance, <br /> <br />Council adopted this ordinance and authorized the advertising of same for bids <br /> <br />in accordance with applicable statutes, as follows: <br /> <br />(INSERT) <br />
